New landscapes for a Mid Century Modern house rethought and renewed by Sigler Henderson Studios. The house has spectacular views of the Hudson River and Hudson Highlands. A challenging site with an extreme grade change, the hardscape and planting design carves out space to enjoy the landscape. The plantings were designed as ecological communities, mostly native and drought tolerant. The steep hillside had mature boxwood that were thriving. A new meadow planting has taken form around the existing structure. This planting matrix was panted from small plug size and was not irrigated. Plantings around the pool form another meadow garden planting, again planted from plug and not irrigated.

The landscape creates distinct garden rooms for the owners to enjoy different areas of their property, including overlook deck with hot tub and pool patio.

A small Woodland Garden creates an entry courtyard, and a Woodland Walk frames views from the interior living spaces and at ground level transitions from lower level game room to the Hot Tub Deck and Pool areas.
